OO SYAK’S RENTAL PROPERTY

The Society’s rental property is at the tail end of a renovation project. All six units are rented. The apartment exterior work is just about completed.

After many years using the same property manager, the Board of Directors decided it was time for a change in order to improve the management of the property. Our new property manager is Oishi’s Property Management.

In case you are not familiar with the property, it is located at 2624 Kapiolani Blvd., about a half mile Koko Head of the Date Street intersection. It is in a little lane on the mauka side of Kapiolani. This is a two-story concrete framed structure with three units on the bottom and three on the top. Each unit has one parking space. They are all one-bedroom apartments.

OTHER INVESTMENTS

The Society’s other investments include stocks, bonds, and money markets. All members are encouraged to attend the Board of Directors’ quarterly meetings to learn more about the Society. Please contact Maile Chang (946-6781) for exact dates. Quarterly meetings are held the third Sundays of January, April, July, and October.

REVISED BYLAWS ADOPTED

By a 2/3rds majority vote of the members present, the recently revised bylaws was adopted. Many of the changes were grammatical corrections. Hospitalization and bereavement contributions were increased to $50 from $20.

PUBLIC RELATIONS, WELFARE & MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Wah Chock Chang and his committee including Edith Won, Donna Chang, and Connie Mark, are working on several programs. The Board of Directors approved several programs which this committee will work out the details. The most notable of these programs is the three scholarships that will be awarded annually to members for attending college. The committee will also insure that the Society participates in the many Chinese activities that occur annually.
