2014 Oo Syak Gee Lu Society Scholarship Winners
The Annual Scholarship Awards dinner was held on July 19, 2014 at the Mandalay Restaurant, Alakea Street. The Oo Syak Board of Directors met with the scholarship recipients, parents and grandparents.
In it's 15th year, this year the family of the late Anthony Kai Ung Chang contributed $1000 to the scholarship award in his memory. A $1,250 scholarship was awarded each to Alexis Rae Mei Lin Chang, Blayne Chang, Bryston Yau Nung Chang, and Nicole Ashley Chang.
Anthony K.U. Chang was well known as a Hawaii State Senator and practiced law in Hawaii. During his retirement he kept busy with many Hawaii Chinese activities, including tour guide of Downtown Honolulu and Chinatown and writer of Hawaii Chinese feature articles. His daughter, Ahnya Chang, one of our first scholarship recipients, presented the Anthony K.U. Chang Scholarship award.
